NANAIMO — Ethan Mistry was in on every Nanaimo goal in a 4-3 victory over Alberni Valley in overtime.
It was a back and forth contest with the Bulldogs leading 1-0 after the first period on a long range shot by Will Elger.
Brody Waters tied the game on a second period power play and Grant Babcock’s first BCHL goal gave the Clippers the lead with 1.5 seconds left in the middle frame.
The Bulldogs made a strong push in the final period with goals by Ethan Bono and Nicholas Beneteau to take a 3-2 advantage with four minutes to play.
Mistry evened the game on a late man advantage with Nanaimo playing with six attackers.
In the first minute of overtime Mistry found Nick Sajevic with a breakaway pass and he tallied his first goal as a Clipper to lift Nanaimo’s record to 6-1.
The Clippers were 2/5 on the power play and a perfect 3/3 killing penalties and won despite being outshot 40-27.
Aidan Campbell earned his fourth win of the season with Alberni’s Callum Tung taking the loss.

The Clippers next action is at the BCHL Showcase on Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. versus Cranbrook and Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. against Trail.
