Q) We couldn't get through anything close to 20 questions last time, what are we going to talk about this time? Dave: Are you kidding? How about asking what's new?
Q) So...what's new? Dave: The NEW Oceanside Media Centre! We have beautiful new studios over-looking Parksville's Community Park and we're teamed again with the Oceanside Star.
Q) So...? Dave: We're a one-stop multi-media shopping centre! Okay, here isn't much shopping involved, but we're perfectly placed for people to leave community
announcements for broadcast/print. If they want to come in and buy radio time, that'd be fine, too. Think about this: "The Beach Morning Show - brought to you by (your name here)." That has a ring to it, don'tcha think?
Q) Radio-radio-radio, is that all you talk about? Dave: Theatre! I am pleased to say I recently joined the Board of Directors for Bard To Broadway as they start a new season at their new home, the Chrysler Theatre in the Parksville Community and Conference Centre. We have the Home and Garden Tour next on the agenda and a terrific season ahead.
Q) Anything else? Dave: Photography! After the better part of 3 years, I'm stepping down as Chair of Oceanside Photographers. New members are always welcome, we meet the first Wednesday of the month, 7:00 pm, at the QB Civic Centre. The first 2 meetings are free! I've been working on several photography projects, some purely for fun and others involving workshops and commercial assignments. Thanks to Marlow at Qualicum Frameworks, a selection of my work is hanging
here at the station.
Q) Are you done? Dave: Keep listening - we're adding more music and working constantly to improve our sound. There are other plans in development...things I can't talk about. It's very exciting, but the boss wouldn't want me to spill the beans. How's that for a teaser?
Q) You're going to leave us hanging? Dave: Yup. See ya.
